NCTM Releases New Series Highlighting Research Findings to Improve Math Teaching
The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) recently released the "Teaching and Learning Mathematics" series, which presents research findings to improve mathematics education in schools. The three-volume series includes Teaching and Learning Mathematics: Translating Research for School Administrators, as well as parallel volumes for elementary school teachers and secondary school teachers. Each book in the series features articles that are tailored to present research to administrators or classroom teachers. Each article addresses practitioner-generated questions with brief, direct answers that are free of technical language and theory. The articles, which include references, directly present what practitioners can learn from research to help them provide equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students.
